Decorating with Memories :Photofetti Turns Your Pictures into Confetti

Personalized confetti makes entertaining fun.

Lakeville, MN July 22, 2004 -- Nothing makes a celebration more memorable than a creative, personal touch. Whether youre at a bridal shower, anniversary party or graduation bash, its those special touches that catch your attention and stay with you long after the event has ended. Few people remember the flavor of a cake at a baby shower, but they can tell you all about the handmade baby booty favors and the elaborate photo collage of the expecting parents baby pictures. Its the personal touches that create lasting memories.

Thats exactly what was going through the mind of Kim Bergeron of Lakeville, MN, when her sister was getting married. Kim wanted to do something truly unique for her sisters wedding reception that would celebrate the events leading up to this major milestone in her life. She and her husband Jim came up with a truly unique idea that was such a hit at the wedding that its turned them into flourishing business owners.

That idea is Photofetti: Double-sided photo confetti made from snapshots, mingled with colorful accents pieces. We scattered them on all the tables at the reception, using pictures from all stages of the brides and grooms lives, and everyone kept asking, Where can I get something like that?, Who did this? says Jim. When the reception was over, not a single picture was left. People said it was better than a collage board because you got to take it home with you.

In October 2003, Photofetti got its official start, complete with a web page and production equipment. Jim admits that Kims the one with the knack for creativity, and with his own expertise in business (garnered from 19 years in the retail and food industries) their new venture has seen quick success.

Its amazing how fast our business has grown, especially since upgrading our web site in January this year, notes Jim. We started out with friends and relatives as our first customers, but ever since we established our web site, weve brought in new business from all over the country: New York, Hawaii, Florida, New Mexico, and so many other places.

The web site, www.photofetti.com, is very easy to use. You follow simple steps to crop your own pictures, making your own photofetti online. You do have the option to mail your pictures to Photofetti and they will scan them in for a small fee. The one-inch Photofetti and the " and " accent pieces are made from 60-pound paper with a wonderful, soft feel that makes the pictures stand out, and is easy to work with when decorating.

The companys web site appears on about five percent of the mid-size accent pieces. We didnt agree on that right away, admits Jim. Kim didnt want it on there at all, but its important for people to know where they can get it, so we limited it to five percent. We dont want it to be commercialized, so its subtle enough to provide information for those who want to know more and it gives us some recognition.

Recently, Kim sent photofetti samples to central Pennsylvania and within a few days had requests from several different people in the area. The same thing has happened in many other areas; one person requests samples or places an order and soon after multiple orders from that area appear.

People have never seen anything like this before and theyre excited about it, explains Kim. Theyre using the photofetti for party decorations, scrapbooking and even inside holiday cards. Theyre having fun with it and cant wait to show it off to their friends and family.
